Whether you're an individual embarking on your first garden, a parent wanting to prepare healthy meals for your family, or an educator involved in fresh foods, this site is for you!
The information here is geared toward people who may not feel confident in growing, selecting or preparing fresh foods. You don't have to be an expert gardener or gourmet chef to enjoy a healthy meal. We’ve compiled easy-to-follow instructions that take the intimidation out of growing and using fresh food. This is not intended to be an all-encompassing reference—you can find more in-depth instructions as you build your confidence. For now, let's just focus on what you really need to get started. How To Use This Site
On the Veggies page you will find a list of common vegetables; each item in the list links to a page with information about how to grow, select, store, and prepare that vegetable.
On each individual vegetable page you will find a link in the uppper right corner to download an "Info Sheet" on that vegetable which contains all of the same information as well as one or two recipies using the vegetable. There is also an option to download all of the Info Sheets—this is one multi-page pdf with all the individual Info Sheets.
You won't find any copyright claims here—we have intentionally provided the Info Sheets as conveniently printable PDFs to be reproduced and distributed to folks buying, growing, or learning about fresh food. All of the information here is provided as a public service at no charge, and with the hope that people will share it with others, because we believe that everyone has the right to fresh, healthy food.
